This background is for site administrators and site designers.
Overview: this section cover tasks which both the Site Designer and Site Administrator will need to maintain the site.
Warning: Site designers need to ensure that all appropriate entries under the configuration contain at least dummy data before trying to test page templates. For performance reasons, the system reads several configuration lines at once. If one is missing none would be read.
For single author sites the flow is to create sections and then to create pages that will go into that content. If the site supports events then create calendars and then enter the events..
For multi-author sites the flow is
A site design/policy question must be answered. Should authors in other sections be able to see contents that they cannot edit. (Note: this can be changed at any time)
Caution: in multi-author sites, Editors in the 'Central Admin.' division can create/edit pages in any division. If the site does not have versions these changes will become live immediately. If the site supports versions, these editors can take over the editing of a page but cannot publish it.
